Last Friday, June 20th, wasn’t just another day on the calendar, it was #EODay, a national celebration dedicated to raising awareness of the benefits and impact of employee ownership (EO).

We’re almost three years into our EO journey, becoming an Employee Ownership Trust in September 2022. Since then, #TeamTrident has truly embraced life as Employee Owners, contributing to our shared success and shaping our future together. We therefore wanted to do something special to mark the occasion.

The Countdown: Sharing our stories

To countdown to the big day, we let #TeamTrident take over our social media channels, with them sharing with you what they enjoy most about working for an employee-owned business.

Here’s what a couple of them had to say:

It was truly great to reflect as a collective about what makes working for an employee-owned business unique—the things we might sometimes take for granted—and to proudly shout about them!

Lunch and Learn: Understanding Our EO Journey

On #EODay itself, we invited #TeamTrident to a Q&A session with our Leadership Team. They answered questions from the team on being EO, what this means, how we can all actively participate as employee owners and what the future looks like for Trident.

We also heard from our Trustees, key players in our EO journey. Their crucial role is to represent the interests of all employee owners, holding the leadership accountable and ensuring that the company’s decisions benefit everyone within the Trust.

Future Success: Strengthening Our Leadership

On Friday, we were delighted to share with you a big update. Our leadership team expanded, with three key appointments: Daksha Mistry, David Juniper and Alexandra Price.

David, Daksha and Alexandra will strengthen our leadership team, filling key gaps, to ensure we’re even better equipped for the future.

A Word from Our Managing Director

Overall, it was a truly impactful #EODay. Here’s what our Managing Director, Dan Roe, had to say:

This EO Day, it was great to see what truly brings an #EOSmile to our team.

Whether it’s the chance to shape our future through participation in our various committees, being empowered to champion initiatives they’re passionate about, or the exciting opportunities to step up into new roles and areas, it’s clear that #TeamTrident is fully embracing life as employee owners.

We’ve also heard from some members of the team who recently re-joined Trident after some time away. It’s been refreshing to hear them talk so positively about the changes they’ve noticed now we are an EO.
