Building Surveying

Salts Mill

Trident’s Leeds office was instructed to provide contract administration services for BTL Group’s tenant fit-out of their new headquarters space at Salts Mills, which is a world heritage site and Grade I listed mill complex.

Trident managed a team of professional consultants on behalf of BTL to ensure that the client’s specification and vision for the space was realised due to the importance of the scheme for the business’s future development.

During the fit out works, Trident administered the building contract between BTL and the contractor, chaired meetings and ensured that any issues were identified and appropriately dealt with.

The project was a challenge due to working within an old mill complex and working within the constraints of a Grade I listing. Several design issues were encountered during the project including the requirement for fire stopping which required liaison with the Landlord, building control and BTL to ensure all parties interested were aligned.

Overall, a highly polished and innovative project was delivered that provides BTL with a top-class office environment for the next stage of their business development.
