Building and Fire Safety

Project Monitoring

Our Project Monitoring service ensures our clients’ interest in fire safety remediation projects is robustly represented.

Independent oversight by experienced fire safety consultants minimises risk for clients, who can be confident that fire safety is being addressed appropriately as intended during the project.

As your eyes and ears, we will track progress, identify any emerging risks, and provide clear, impartial reporting on key aspects of design, programme, cost and quality. Our approach is flexible, collaborative and proportionate, recognising that different stakeholders require different levels of involvement and assurance.

We offer a tailored monitoring service that can range from a ‘light-touch’ review at key milestones to more in-depth involvement throughout design and construction. The scope is agreed at the outset to align with the client’s role, risk exposure, and reporting requirements.

Our monitoring role can include peer reviews of outline remediation recommendations and proposals, to provide an independent view on suitability, proportionality, and alignment with fire safety objectives. We review the progress of design development and assess compliance with relevant Building Regulations and fire safety standards.

Competence reviews of proposed designers and contractors are available, to help clients understand whether the project team has the appropriate skills and experience to deliver fire safety remediation works. Cost plan peer reviews and ongoing commercial assessments can be provided during both the design and construction phases, highlighting potential budget pressures or financial risks at an early stage.

In order to assess progress against key milestones and identify potential delays or sequencing risks, we can provide programme reviews, as well as carrying out quality assurance reviews, reporting on workmanship, documentation and the completeness of the Golden Thread of information.

After completion, a final review of operation and maintenance information is supplied, offering assurance that fire safety documentation is complete, accurate, and suitable for ongoing building management.
