As an employee-owned business, we know that #TeamTrident is what makes us so successful. We invest in our people, encouraging them to be their best selves, make their mark, and build the careers they want.
This commitment doesn’t just foster a culture of empowerment, passion and expertise, it also benefits our clients. By investing in our team’s professional development, we have a team with a diverse range of skills, ready to deliver successful projects, no matter the challenge.
We recently spoke with Ashlee Rushmer-Wells, Chartered Senior Project Manager in our London office, to hear how her development and personal interests strengthen the services we provide to clients.
BREEAM Assessor
Recently, Ashlee completed the BREEAM assessor course, which gives her the skills to assess and verify the performance of buildings against BREEAM standards.
“I completed the course to better understand a process many find confusing and often leave too late” explains Ashlee. “It has helped me provide a more informed service as a Project Manager and allows me to support Trident’s sustainability offering more effectively.”
“Trident really supported me, by covering the cost of the course, providing time to attend the training and prepare for the exams”.
By supporting Ashlee in her decision to take the course, she has gained specialised sustainability knowledge which she can feed into her projects. This not only strengthens our expertise, but ensure clients receive up to date, practical advice to help them achieve their goals.
Dual Role: Project Manager and Designer
Ashlee has recently started providing design services directly to clients, enhancing the service offering and package we can offer as well as making the process more streamlined and cost effective.
“I typically develop a concept design and turn it into a 3D model, which helps clients better visualise the space compared to traditional 2D plans” says Ashlee. “In CAT B fit-outs especially, I’ve also styled the spaces to support marketing efforts, helping agents and potential tenants see the potential of the space”
Ashlee’s skill set in this area stems from a personal interest in the area, which we have encouraged to benefit both her and our clients.
“I’ve always loved interior design!” Ashlee explains “As I worked on more office refurbishment projects—particularly smaller-scale ones—I saw an opportunity to offer design services directly to clients.”
The proof is in the projects
One example of a project where Ashlee’s skill set has led to real client benefits is 34 Threadneedle Street for our client CCLA, including cost savings, better design outcomes and increased lettability.

“I’m particularly proud of this project” says Ashlee. “It was a full redesign of the 3rd floor office. The space had recently been vacated and needed a refresh on a limited budget, so I focused on cost-effective solutions—like retaining the kitchen base units while upgrading the doors, plinths, and worktop, and adding a kitchen island for extra storage and seating. I also selected all the furniture and fabrics, with support from Hunters, to bring the design together.”
Ashlee continues: “Following the success of that project, CCLA asked me to review the reception lobby, bike store, showers, and the 5th floor office. The common areas were dated, and the 5th floor wasn’t letting well despite a previous refurbishment, so I was brought in to help enhance these areas”

Empowering Teams, Enhancing Projects
For Trident, investment in professional development means we have a motivated and diverse workforce, that in return gives clients richer expertise and better results.
“It’s refreshing to work for a company that encourages personal development and supports new ideas. The design work was something I chose to pursue, and Trident has been incredibly supportive throughout”
