Project Management

Budgens Supermarket

In June 2020, Budgens, Norfolk, was destroyed by fire. Trident was employed as Project Managers and Employer’s Agent to coordinate the rebuild. Our involvement began at the project outset, in fact our first site visit took place whilst there was still smoke rising from the burnt out building.

Working with a project team comprising Cost Consultant, Architect, Structural Engineer, Planning Consultant, Building Services Consultant and Principal Designer, our first step was to organise the demolition and clearance of the site. Then, working closely with the Architect, Planning Consultant and a host of subconsultants, we coordinated the planning process, achieving consent in December 2020.

The next step was to manage the procurement of the construction and oversee the selection of the winning contractor. We then managed the construction phase for the Cat A build which completed in September 2022. Our instruction changed to a monitoring role for the Cat B build, which was delivered by the incoming tenant’s project team.
