Project Management

Dee View House

Trident’s Liverpool office was appointed by Dee View House Management Company Ltd as lead consultant for structural repair works to Dee View House, Wirral. The project was successfully completed in December 2019, on budget and on programme.

The project involved organising a design team for compiling tender costs and liaising with the client to agree a settlement from National House Building Council (NHBC).

Historically, the residents of the building had noticed hairline cracking within the external walls which were raised with the NHBC. The NHBC stated these were due to thermal movement and the residents continued living in the building unaware of a design flaw in the property.

In 2018, a steel lintel collapsed in a window opening. When the building was constructed the detailing in design and construction at the point of the failure was poor.

Trident liaised with a structural engineer to formulate a repair method which included jacking up displaced steel beams the floors affected by the collapse. The engineers design was incorporated into a package of works to include remedial works internally and externally.

Trident Building Consultancy project managed the works which were completed on time and within the budget constraints of the offer made by NHBC to repair the works.
